Definition of Personal Data

Personal data refers to any information that can directly or indirectly identify you as an individual. Examples include your name, address, telephone number, email address, IP address, or customer number.

Legal Basis for Processing Your Data

Privacy legislation requires us to specify the legal grounds on which we process personal data.

We process personal data because this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you, for example for the delivery of products and services under the Speedline brand. This applies, among other things, to:

• Orders and pre-orders (by telephone, email, via the webshop, or on-site)
• Delivery
• Returns and complaint handling
• Contact with our customer service department
• Contact with other support services related to Speedline

In addition, we may process personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest. This includes improving our services, providing technical advice, maintaining customer relationships, and optimizing our websites and services. This applies, among other things, to:

• Contact with our customer service department
• Visits to the Speedline website
• Your account environment
• Newsletters and email communications
• Personal advice
• Promotions and campaigns
• Social media
• Security, Wi-Fi, and CCTV surveillance at our locations

We may also process personal data where we are legally required to do so, for example in cases of suspected fraud.

Furthermore, processing may take place based on your consent, for example when you subscribe to a newsletter or contact us through our website or social media channels.

Access to Your Data

We only share your data with third parties when this is necessary for the provision of our services. Examples include logistics partners, IT service providers, or supporting service partners.

We may also engage data, media, advertising, or research agencies to improve our services and provide more relevant information.

Where legally required, we may share personal data with competent government authorities.

Parties that have access to personal data may only use such data for the purpose of performing services on behalf of Speedline and SIG Benelux B.V., unless they are independently responsible for processing that data.

Storage of Your Personal Data

Your personal data is stored in secure systems. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.

Your data is stored within the European Union.

Retention Period of Your Data

We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a statutory retention obligation requires otherwise.

We apply the following retention periods:

• Recorded telephone conversations are deleted after 30 days by default, unless a legal obligation requires a longer retention period.
• CCTV footage is retained for a maximum of 4 weeks, unless it is required for an investigation or due to a legal obligation.
• Inactive accounts are deleted after 2 years. Data may thereafter only be used in anonymized form for analysis and reporting purposes.
• Invoice, payment, and order data is retained for 7 years in accordance with tax legislation.
• Consents relating to newsletters and marketing communications are retained for 5 years, together with any unsubscribe requests.
• Data used for fraud prevention purposes is retained for a maximum of 15 years.

The Speedline website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files placed on your device to ensure the website functions properly and to analyze its usage.

Cookies help the website operate faster and more user-friendly during future visits. In addition, we use cookies to improve the website technically and functionally.
